Enchanted Dragon Jennifer Castillo Game Art Design 2021-2022
Overview
In Enchanted Dragon, the main character must undergo many challenges in order to get rid of a dragon. The game will begin with the main character inside their home, where they unexpectedly create a dragon. While at their home, the character is trying to create a magic staff but accidentally ends up adding an extra potion. This extra potion leads to the creation of an evil dragon that begins to attack the character.
At first, the main objective of my game was to turn the dragon into a magic staff. After creating my GDD and receiving feedback, I have decided that the goal will be to create a magic staff to make the dragon disappear. In order to get the ingredients to create the magic staff, the character must go to the castle. In order to get to the castle, the character must navigate through the forest. Once inside the castle, the main character will have to go through a maze in order to find the necessary potions. After finding all the potions, the character will have to try to mix them in a specific order to make the magic staff. After the magic staff is created, the character will cast a disappearing spell on the dragon, meaning the player has won the game.
The prototype will be testing out the hidden object portion of my game. There will be objects you will place around the board and in order to move to a certain location the player must roll a die. There will be two players, one will be the player the other will be a dragon. This will serve to simulate the enemy trying to prevent the player from advancing. The prototype will be mostly luck based with the choice of choosing the locations you place the objects and who you play as. Once all objects are obtained the player earns a magic staff meaning they have defeated the dragon.
Intended audience
Though the original design of the main character is shown as a male, there is no gender restriction on who can play this game. In addition, anyone that is twelve and up can play this game because this is the age when people begin to experiment.

Description of the processes used to create the game and components
In order to create my prototype board game I started off by designing the board game on iBis Paint X. Since the game involved hidden objects I decided to make the board game have multiple locations that the player could go to. Then I began brainstorming designs for the packaging. I created the packaging design idea on Photoshop. I made a blueprint for components and objects I wanted to include in my board game. Once I had done all the digital art I began to work on the physical prototype by printing out the object cards. After creating the object cards I began working on the packaging.
